Cancellation Policy

Best Available Rate: When you book our best available rate, Haymarket Hotel will ask you for a credit/debit card number to secure your reservation only. No payment will be taken from your card and you will pay for your room on arrival at the hotel. All guests must present a payment card on arrival in their name.

Cancelling your room - you can cancel your booking up to 11pm three days prior to the day of arrival without penalty. If you fail to arrive or cancel your reservation after 11pm three days prior to the day of arrival, you will be charged the total amount for your accommodation.

Advanced Purchase Rate: When you book an advance purchase rate, Haymarket Hotel will take full prepayment from your debit/credit card at the time of booking. The advanced purchase rate is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to an alternative date or name.

Promotional Offer Rates: When you book a promotional offer, including seasonal promotions, you will be asked for full pre-payment unless stated otherwise.  All promotional packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. We reserve the right to withdraw any offer at any such time.

Early Check In/Late Check Out Times

Subject to availability, we are happy to offer a late checkout of 12noon or a early check in of 1.00pm for an additional £20 per room.


Late Evening Arrival

Reception is manned until 11.30pm. If arriving after this time, please let us know in advance of your arrival and we can confirm check in procedure.

Luggage

We do not have a storage room specifically for luggage, but we do have a small area where we are happy to store the luggage for you in advance of check in or after check out. Please, just keep in mind that our reception desk is open 7am to 11.30pm, and hence luggage needs to be picked up within these times.


Accessibility

The Haymarket is a historic listed building and as such, unfortunately we are unable to install a lift in any of the townhouses. Access into all townhouses (including the breakfast room) is also via a small flight of steps.

We do have accessible rooms located on the first, second and lower floors.

Breakfast

We provide a lovely continental buffet and also full cooked breakfast made to order at our Logan’s breakfast bar.  Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10.00am each day.


Room Service

We are currently don’t provide a room service facility. Should you have any specific needs, please do get in touch with us.

Child Policy

Haymarket Hotel welcomes families and smaller guests will all receive a free children’s activity pack when they arrive at the hotel. 

Upgrade charges will apply if you need a larger bedroom to accommodate your family. Rates are as featured online if you click on the desired number of people in the room.

Children under 5 can stay free of charge in a room when staying in existing beds.

Cots are provided free of charge, however are subject to availability.  Please get in touch to check availability.

Breakfast is charged as taken for children.


Dog Policy

The hotel allows dogs in dedicated rooms for an additional fee of £20 per well behaved dog. Pets in the room must be advised in advance of arrival so please contact us for further information. Guide dogs are allowed in all areas of the hotel. Dogs are allowed in our public areas including Logan’s bar and breakfast room, except for during breakfast service hours between 7am to 10am. Dogs must be supervised and controlled at all times in both public areas and in guest rooms. With courtesy to other guests staying with us, there is unfortunately no provision to leave dogs unattended in hotel bedrooms for any length of time.

Bedroom Bathrooms

All our bedrooms are ensuite with shower.


Bedroom Heating & Air Conditioning

The hotel does not have air-conditioning installed. All bedrooms have windows which open to bring in the fresh Scottish air, and we do have a couple of portable air-conditioning units if ever needed. Heating is supplied through our central heating system, with radiators in every room.

Are there hairdryers and irons in the rooms?

Yes all rooms have both.


Laundry Service

Regular laundry - we currently partner with City Laundry who will collect guest laundry and deliver back to the hotel usually within 1 day. For example, if we are given the laundry by 10am in the morning, we usually have it back by 10pm the same day. The cost is £15 per bag, bags can be collected from reception, and payment will be charged to your room bill.

Dry Cleaning - can also be provided by City Laundry, price dependent on garments.

Parking

The hotel is located on a cobbled street with parking along both sides of the hotel, and also on neighbouring streets. You can park on our street and parking is charged from 08:30 - 18:30 at £4 per hour, maximum 4 hours (free of charge on Sundays). There is also parking on Wester Coates Road from 08:30 - 17:30 and costs £6.00 per day (free on Saturdays and Sundays).

There is also free motorcycle parking available just across from the hotel.


How far is hotel from Prince’s Street and Leith walk?

Princess Street is a 10 - 15 minute walk or 3 minutes by bus or tram, and Leith Walk is around 15-20 minutes by bus. 

Where are the nearest train stations?

The Haymarket train station is 2 minutes walk, and Waverley train station is about 25 minutes walk or you can take a tram from just outside the hotel which takes about 6 minutes.
